These terms apply to every car rental booked with Rent Car In Albania (NIPT —), Ruga Nene Tereza, Rinas 1504, Albania — through rentcarinalbania.com, by phone, WhatsApp or email. At pick-up you also sign a rental agreement for your car; if it says something different from these terms, the signed rental agreement applies.
1. Booking and confirmation
- When you book you receive a reservation code by email. A booking is pending until we confirm it; we then email you the confirmation.
- Minimum rental: 3 days.
- We reserve the car you choose. In rare cases (for example a breakdown) we may give you a car of the same or a higher category, at no extra cost.
- If we cannot provide a car at all, we tell you as soon as possible and you pay nothing.
- Please check your booking details when you receive the confirmation and tell us right away if something is wrong.
2. Prices and payment
- Prices are in euro (EUR), taxes included. The total shown in your booking summary — rental, chosen protection, extras and any fees — is the price you pay.
- You pay at pick-up, with one of the payment methods offered for your car. Nothing is charged online.
- If you change the dates, times, locations or extras, the price is recalculated for the new booking.
- Pick-up or drop-off outside our office hours (08:00–20:00) costs €0.00 each time.
- Promo codes apply only under their own conditions and cannot be combined unless stated.
3. Driver requirements
- Every driver must be at least 21 years old and have held a full driving licence for at least 1 year.
- At pick-up the main driver shows a valid driving licence, a passport or ID card, and a payment card in their own name for the security deposit.
- A licence not written in the Latin alphabet must come with an International Driving Permit.
- Only drivers named in the rental agreement may drive the car. Additional drivers can be added (see extras) and must meet the same requirements.
4. Security deposit
If your car has a security deposit, the amount is shown during booking and in your confirmation. It is pre-authorised (blocked, not charged) on the main driver’s card at pick-up and released after the car is returned and checked. It may be used for costs you are responsible for under these terms, such as missing fuel, damage not covered by your protection, fines or a late return.
5. Insurance and protection
- Every car has the compulsory third-party liability insurance required in Albania.
- The protection plan in your booking sets how much you pay if the car is damaged or stolen. Its exact cover, excess and exclusions are shown in the booking and confirmed in the rental agreement.
- Protection never covers damage caused by drunk or drugged driving, an unauthorised driver, reckless driving or breaking traffic law, nor loss of personal belongings, keys or documents. Some plans also exclude tyres, wheels, glass, the underbody or the interior — check your plan.
6. Pick-up and return
- Pick up and return the car at the place and time in your booking. If you will be late, tell us as soon as you can — we will hold the car, but cannot guarantee it if you are very late without telling us.
- Together with our staff you check the car at pick-up; any existing damage is noted in the rental agreement. Please do the same at return.
- Returning the car later than agreed without our approval may be charged as an extra day.
- Return the car in the same condition, apart from normal wear. Exceptional cleaning (for example sand, mud, pet hair or smoke) may be charged.
7. Fuel and mileage
- Fuel: unless stated otherwise, you get the car with a full tank and return it full. Missing fuel is charged.
- Mileage: each rental includes unlimited unless your car or booking says otherwise. Unlimited mileage is available as an extra. Extra kilometres are charged at the rate in the rental agreement.
8. Using the car
You agree to drive carefully and obey traffic law. You may not:
- drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affects driving;
- let anyone not named in the rental agreement drive;
- use the car for racing, driving lessons, towing, off-road driving (except on proper roads with a 4×4 where allowed), or to carry passengers or goods for payment;
- sub-rent the car or carry more people than it is registered for;
- smoke in the car;
- take the car out of Albania without the Cross Border extra and the documents we give you for it.
9. Accidents, breakdowns and theft
- Call us straight away on +355 69 561 4450, and call the police for any accident or theft. Insurance requires a police report.
- Do not admit liability or agree to repairs without speaking to us.
- Keep the car keys and documents; if they are lost, replacement costs may be charged.
- If the car breaks down through no fault of yours, we will repair or replace it as quickly as we can.
10. Fines, tolls and parking
You are responsible for traffic and parking fines, tolls and towing costs during your rental. If we receive a fine after the rental, we may pass it on to you and give your details to the authority that issued it.
11. Cancellations and changes
- Free cancellation: you can cancel free of charge up until the pick-up time. Just reply to your confirmation email, message us on WhatsApp or call us.
- To change dates, times, locations or extras, contact us; changes depend on availability and the price is recalculated.
- If you do not arrive and have not contacted us, we may cancel the booking and release the car.
12. Our responsibility
We provide a safe, roadworthy car and the service described in your booking. We are not responsible for belongings left in the car, or for indirect losses such as missed flights or hotel costs, unless caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Albanian consumer law.

14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Albania. If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most issues are solved quickly. Disputes that cannot be settled are decided by the competent courts of Albania.
