This policy explains what personal data Rent Car In Albania collects when you visit rentcarinalbania.com, book a car or contact us, why we need it, who we share it with and the rights you have. We keep it short and specific to how our service actually works.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Rent Car In Albania (NIPT —), Ruga Nene Tereza, Rinas 1504, Albania. For any question about your data, write to booking@rentcarinalbania.com or call +355 69 561 4450.
2. The data we collect
When you book a car
- Your name, email address, phone number and country.
- Your driving licence number.
- Your rental details: car, dates and times, pick-up and drop-off locations, protection plan, extras, preferred payment method and any notes you add.
We do not take card payments on the website, so we never receive your card number online.
At pick-up (rental contract)
The rental contract records the details the law and our insurer require: date and place of birth, nationality, home address, passport or ID card number and driving licence, plus the car handed over (plate, fuel level, equipment). The security deposit is pre-authorised on your card through our bank terminal; we do not keep your full card number.
If you start a booking but do not finish it
If you enter your email in the “Your details” step and leave without booking, we save your first name, email and the trip you were looking at, so we can send you one reminder with a link to finish the booking.
When you contact us
Messages you send through the contact form, by email, phone or WhatsApp, and the details you give us in them. To look up a reservation on the “Check reservation” page you enter your reservation code and email; we only use them to find your booking.
When you browse the website
- Visit statistics: a random visit ID, the pages you view and how you found us (for example a Google search or an ad). We do not store your IP address or anything that names you in these statistics.
- Language: to show the site in your language, your IP address is sent to the geolocation service ip-api.com to find your country. We keep only the country, for up to one day, and remember your language choice in a cookie.
- Advertising and analytics (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel), only where switched on and only with your consent. See section 6.
3. Why we use your data

We do not send newsletters or sell your data. If you do not want the reminder or review email, just reply to any of our emails and we will stop.
4. Who we share it with
- The person managing your car. Some cars in our fleet are looked after by partner rental managers; they see the bookings for their cars so they can hand the car over.
- Service providers working for us: our website host, our email provider, WhatsApp (if you message us), Google (Maps, reviews, and Ads/Analytics if you consent), Meta (Pixel, if you consent) and ip-api.com (country lookup).
- Authorities and insurers, when the law requires it or to deal with an accident, theft, fine or claim.
Some of these providers (for example Google and Meta) process data outside Albania and the EU. Where this happens, they use the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Bookings and rental contracts: as long as Albanian accounting, tax and civil law require (generally several years after the rental).
- Unfinished bookings: only as long as needed to send the one reminder and for our booking statistics.
- Visit statistics: deleted automatically after 13 months.
- Messages: as long as needed to answer you and deal with any follow-up.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:

You can change your mind at any time by deleting the cookies for this site in your browser; the banner will then ask you again. Blocking cookies does not stop you from booking.
7. How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Booking data is only accessible to our staff and the manager of the car, each with their own password-protected account and only for the bookings they need.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example a signed rental contract);
- restrict or object to how we use it, including the reminder and review emails;
- send your data to you or another company in a common format;
- withdraw your consent for cookies at any time.
Write to booking@rentcarinalbania.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner of Albania (idp.al) or, if you live in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
9. Children
Our service is for adults: drivers must be at least 21. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. For important changes affecting an upcoming booking, we will tell you by email.
